TRACS (Tenant Rental Assistance Certification System) is responsible for processing and authorizing Section 8 assistance to multi-family property owners throughout Tennessee. The process is completed by reconciling a property’s Section 8 assistance request with the electronic tenant data transmitted. The authorization is completed when TRACS Specialists verify that the tenant subsidy requested is acceptable per HUD Handbook 4350.3, Revision 1.
