Beware of Housing Choice Voucher Scams
THDA is not currently accepting applications for Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting lists. When a waitlist opens the only way to apply for a THDA voucher is through our website. Applying for a Housing Choice Voucher is always free. Anyone who charges a fee to apply for the voucher program is not affiliated with THDA or HUD.
New Purchase Price Limits
Tennessee Housing Development Agency’s new mortgage loan program purchase price limits are between $275,000 and $240,000. The new purchase price limits are effective December 1. New maximum income limits became effective August 1. These new higher limits will broaden the range of eligible households and houses. Both purchase and income limits are listed here.
Housing Choice Voucher Payment Standard Decrease
THDA received our calendar year 2011 funding award from HUD on June 14, 2011. The award was not sufficient to cover all housing assistance and utility assistance costs for the remainder of 2011. THDA implemented a series of HUD-recommended cost-savings measures to alleviate some of the shortfall. For more information, click here.
